The Owner Behind Mold Remediation Gettysburg PA
Four years in business, zero websites until now. Here's who you're calling.
Four years without a website
My name is John Calhoun, and for four years this business ran without a website. I never thought I needed one. No Facebook page either.
What changed my mind was searching for my own trade. Look up mold help in Gettysburg and nearly everything on the page is a national franchise with an office in another county. Good luck finding the local guy. So here I am.
Going up against the franchise guys
I’ll be fair to them. The big restoration brands have trained people and good equipment, and after a major flood or fire their size is useful.
For a moldy basement wall or a crawl space, size doesn’t help you much. What you get with a franchise is a call center, a coordinator, a crew you haven’t met, and a price that has to cover royalties and a regional office. What you get here is one owner who looks at the job, prices the job, and answers for the job. If something isn’t right, you know exactly who to call and where my office is.
How I think about the work
Mold is a symptom. Somewhere, building material is staying wet, and until that’s dealt with any cleanup is temporary. So I spend more time than most people expect with a moisture meter before I talk about removal at all.
I also think you should be able to check the work without trusting me. That means photos of everything I open up, moisture numbers before and after, and a recommendation to use a separate inspector if you need formal clearance testing.
And I’ll tell you when you don’t need me. A little mildew on a bathroom ceiling is a fan and a scrub brush, not a remediation contract.
Where to find me
The office is at 123 Baltimore St, Suite 200, in downtown Gettysburg. I work throughout Adams County. The full list of what I do is on the services page, and the contact page has the form.
